The music business is hard work, but it has been paying off. Right now, I’m recovering from sleep deprivation after being in the studio with Geoff (my guitarist, cellist, and recording engineer) until 5 a.m. this morning. What started out as a four song demo (have you heard it yet?) has been turning into a full length album. Geoff had to do a final recording arts project and I had the delight of being his guinea pig and having four additional songs professionally recorded. We weren’t on the clock this time, which led to some very creative musical decisions (we’ve been playing with record players, recording rain, and putting electric razors next to guitars!). I truly believe we’re making an album of deep artistic and spiritual significance and I’m happy to invite you be a part of the process.
Now, I have two more songs that I need to record in order to balance the flow of the record. AND THE REMAINING SONGS ARE?? (Drum roll please!!)- Joy a song about the crisis in Darfur, international mission trips, and the abundance of joy amidst the poor (you can find a live concert video of this song on youtube) and You Bought Me Twice which is a song inspired by a story told by Ravi Zacharius about a boy buying a toy boat, losing it, and having to re-buy it. We have a recording date set for Monday, May 12 at Invisible Sound Studio in Baltimore. After this, we will need to get the tracks mixed (the balance of the instruments), mastered (the sound is tweaked and brought up to stereo level), and then sent to disc makers to be mass-printed with all of the artwork (I will be including the lyrics this time around). This will cost a lot of money, that, quite frankly, I do not have. So, if you’d like to help contribute to this project, you can donate by clicking the paypal button at the bottom of this page or, it you don’t have a paypal account; you can e-mail me directly at cameronblakemusic@gmail.com. Thanks you so much for all of your support.
Peace,
