Long Winter

Long Winter

WRITTEN BY: CAMERON BLAKE

We would never make love when we’d take love out of the recipe for you and me
Every time I’d see you, the sun would always peek through clouds that are known to be a part of me

Put that book away, I’ve got something to say to you now
“Oh honey bee, won’t you marry me?”
We can spend our days, quiet and tame without these city dreams that are changing me

It’s been a long winter we’re getting through
We used to take the long way home, round the avenue
It’s been a long time I’ve been in love with you
only you

Look out at the night over valleys, over miles of black
What do you see in your mind’s T.V.?
Children laugh and play and they dance in the rain in the spring
Oh the joy we’ll bring to our lives someday.

It’s been a long winter we’re getting through
We used to take the long way home, down to Manitou
It’s been a long time I’ve been in love with you
only you
